Wicked beasts descends
spewing with foul-tainted breaths
clawing with icy fingers

wild chaos ensues
tossed up and about like stone
ignored by nightly creatures

wayward child is lost
icy winds sweep in from west
fiery red leaves rush from east

gentlewoman plea
crippled by raging fever
obsequious tears flow on

full moon digresses
cowardly rascals plod on
taunting shouts with gleeful boasts

heavenly stars dim
gods of clemency rise up
lightning tongues strike the damp earth

white spectral speak
vile men continue assault
heaving insults to Odin

and to she, who’s wife
glorious, beloved Frigg
each an exacting ruler
