CLIFFS

sea spray
the cliff laced
by crystal

detritus is heaped upon
against an ancient stone wall

giant waves
sea cliff rocks
summer sea secure

coniferous tree swaying
and subsequently jostled

high tide
brings storm waves
to cliff dwellers

the sound of successive waves
guarantees a sleepless night

frozen cliffs
swept by lighthouse beams
soft in the dark

beams of faint golden sunlight
intensely pierce winter clouds

high tossed mists
warmed in morning sun
above winter cliffs

misty wraiths rise from damp earth
then effectively disperse

after the storm
sandstone cliffs relax pebbles
into the beach

tawny baubles dribbling down
towards unknown destinations
