CHERRY BLOSSOM

standing naked
in awe of the first cherry blossom
dancing in the garden

on winter’s edge
the first Cherry blossom blooms
rain falls softly

from rainy grey skies
free-falling cherry blossoms
make refugees smile

from rainy grey skies
free-falling cherry blossoms
offer comfort touch

free-falling cherry blossoms
their delicate scent
lingers in the air

make refugees smile
pirouetting ballerinas
before dreamy eyes

RETURNING TO NOW

pink ballerinas
gyrating with liveliness
pulsating with life

pink ballerinas
dancing during rainshower
make young dreamers smile

gyrating with liveliness
fragrant pink blossoms
beyond winter clouds

pulsating with life
under the evening moonlight
spring cherry blossoms

TROIKU HINERI: APPLE BLOSSOMS

light carried in my arms
apple blossoms from a neighbor
on my doorstep

from here to there
cherry blossom lanterns
guiding me home

from here to there
fallen buds create collage
painting portrait

cherry blossoms lanterns
weary from flight –
found abandoned

guiding me home
these lost spring remnants
in winter field

clusters talking
together in admiration
apple blossoms

spied from afar
fallen color palette –
marooned apples

spied from afar
colorful motley crew
in the orchard

fallen color palette –
these pink paint chips
embraced by wind

marooned apples
decaying over time
indicate change

sun transformed
into apple blossoms
the ground is level

early morning
fresh sprouts of greenery
rise from damp earth

early morning
seen before my window
blossoming buds

fresh sprouts of greenery
bloom into tomorrow
without hesitation

rise from damp earth
rising impatient buds –
heady scents haunt

the dam is broken
spring cascades into valleys
as apple blossom

in wintry air
in the midst of a storm
falling pink snow

in wintry air
pink-white apple blossoms –
floral fireworks

in the midst of a storm
fragrant shower –
blossom raindrops

falling pink snow
a soft breeze carrying
sweet memories

THESE HAIKU SITES

Before I, Madasahatter572 post my daily poems, I wanted to take a few minutes and share these Facebook sites with you, my followers. Facebook may be in question and its credibility, but so far, I have found these sites to be quite genuine in their community unity. I know there are a great many Haiku enthusiasts out there. For the layman who just enjoys reading Haiku and its numerous forms, I strongly believe that these sites are for you.

NEW YEAR’S EVE

a new year
rising from wild seas
a few stars

filling
the glass with candlelight
champagne

© Jane Reichhold

a few stars
spread out before us –
time to make a wish

a few stars
twinkling in the wintry air
in the breath of a new dawn

spread out before us –
a splash of color
rent darkness asunder

time to make a wish
withered hands catching
sparkling winter stars

LEAVING

fallen leaves
come flying from elsewhere:
autumn is ending

the stream hides itself
in the grasses
of departing autumn

the pampas grass
waves good-bye, good-bye,
to departing autumn

leaving

leaving November
a flurry of leaves scattering
from a field of green

haiku

fallen leaves
scattering in the wind
waves good-bye, good-bye

fallen leaves
flying into red sun
vanishes without a trace

scattering in the wind
blanket of golden stars
beyond the peaks

waves good-bye, good-bye
a fluttering butterfly
from flower to flower
